This is the location first used by Rio Verde University in Houston, Texas. The University started as a small private business-nursing school in 1968 by Dr. William Abrams, his wife Sara (an RN) and Wayne Tollier PRN (a nurse practitioner). The school offered classes in medical transcription, nurses aide training, business math, ESL, first aid, and typing. The school also offered over a dozen correspondence continuing education courses for health-care practitioners to meet upgrading requirements in their license requirements. Along with t he distance learning department RVU at that time known as East Texas Health Training Center, also conducted regular weekly seminars and one day or part day training classes.
