The Institute for International Studies

The Institute for International Studies at Rio Verde University, set up in 1987, is the international relations and academic arm of RVU as part of its’ multinational goals and curriculum.  It is an autonomous, self-governing organization housed in the Rio Verde University's international office in Juarez Mexico office, and a second smaller office in the laboratory facilities of the International Institute for Health & Wellness/RVU-UT in Springville, Utah.  RVU serves as host to a number of institutes which have an international vocation.

RVU’s Institute for International Studies works with UNESCO and is devoted to the pursuit of research and training in various fields of interest.  The Institute's role is to stimulate scholastic debate on an international level.  Through appropriate agreements, the Institute collaborates with national and international bodies which share its objectives.

The Chancellor of the University is the Institute's Chairman.  The Institute's funding is mainly self-generated through the organization of international conferences and short courses.  It receives a small grant from the government of Mexico, which in 2002, was equivalent to 10% of the annual turnover.  Similar grant requests have been submitted to UNESCO, the United States State Department, and the Canadian Foreign Affairs office.
